Procurement Manager Role

Riverina Australia seeks a highly skilled Procurement Manager to lead the Purchasing team and oversee the procurement lifecycle.


This pivotal role ensures supplier partnerships, inventory management, and procurement processes are cost-effective, reliable, and aligned with strategic objectives and continuous improvement culture.


The Procurement Manager will provide leadership across supplier selection, contract negotiations, vendor analysis, and process optimisation to achieve procurement excellence that supports Riverina's operational and business goals.

You are an experienced procurement professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and brings a strategic mindset to supplier and cost management.


As a commercially astute and excellent communicator, you will confidently lead a team while diving deep into data-driven decision making.


Responsibilities
  • Lead end-to-end procurement functions, including supplier sourcing, contract negotiation, and vendor management.
  • Autorize supply contracts, corrective actions, and supplier engagement strategies in line with company standards.
  • Oversee tender preparation, proposals, contract execution, and supplier performance monitoring.
  • Drive vendor analysis and cost reduction initiatives to improve overall efficiency.
  • Manage ingredient sourcing for the manufacturing process, ensuring accuracy in pricing, stock levels, and timeframes.
  • Implement reporting mechanisms for raw material usage and procurement metrics.
  • Conduct technical and process analysis to identify improvements, advising senior management on strategies.
  • Develop and implement innovative procurement tools and systems.
  • Provide leadership and coaching to the Purchasing team, ensuring alignment with Riverina's values and performance standards.

Qualifications
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in purchasing and logistics, preferably within FMCG or multi-site manufacturing.
  • Tertiary qualification in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in projecting commodity usage and financial outcomes through strong data and analytical skills.
  • Strong business, communication, and customer service skills, with the ability to influence and manage change.
  • Proven negotiation skills with suppliers and stakeholders.
  • Strong time management, attention to detail, and leadership capabilities.
