Family Preservation Caseworker

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Family Preservation Caseworker to join our Outreach Program at Allambi Care. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting families and young people to maintain their connection and prevent out-of-home care placements.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with the Program Manager to develop and implement case plans that address the unique needs of each family.
- Conduct thorough risk assessments and develop safety plans to ensure the well-being of families and young people.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with families, young people, and community services to provide a network of support.
- Provide intensive support to families in the initial period of their referral, with a focus on developing a step-down process as their needs reduce.
- Ensure regular case planning meetings with families and young people, using a collaborative approach to goal setting and progress monitoring.
- Review and assess progress of case plan goals regularly with the Program Manager and discuss any barriers to completion.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date case notes, incident reports, and case plans in accordance with Allambi Care standards.
- Supervise and support youth workers in their role with families and young people.
- Communicate effectively with community services, clinical services, and other stakeholders to ensure a coordinated approach to support.
- Attend ongoing internal and external training to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Promote the Allambi Care Needs-Based Restorative Framework culture and work to NBRF ideals.
- Collaborate with other NGOs and government departments to maintain relationships and ensure a comprehensive approach to support.
- Work within allocated budgets and make referrals to programs that will gain a positive outcome for young people and their families.
- Assist families and young people to gain practical life skills and independently access community supports.
- Meet weekly with the Program Manager and attend fortnightly team meetings with youth workers and families as needed.
- Ensure client files are maintained, accurate, and up-to-date, and meet the required standards.
- Act in a professional and appropriate manner at all times.
- 2 years of experience working with children and young people in a similar environment to Allambi Care.
- Extensive experience in Microsoft Office Applications.
- Knowledge of Needs-Based Restorative Framework concepts and strategies.
- Tertiary qualification in a related discipline (preferably Social Work).
- Full-time employment for a fixed term (12 months).
- Salary packaging (salary sacrifice).

- 12 roster days off per year (one per month).
- Monday to Friday work week.
