Our organisation is responsible for developing and delivering transport systems. We put our customers at the centre of everything we do, providing safe and efficient services.
We connect people and communities through road, rail, and maritime networks, and manage how they use these services. Our work has a significant impact on daily life, connecting the journeys people take every day.
We are a large team made up of over 28,000 people, working across planning, policy, and procurement to develop smarter and more adaptive transport solutions.
This role is an opportunity to make a difference in our organisation by joining our Workplace Experience team as a Space Planner. You will be responsible for planning and managing space requirements across our accommodation sites.
The key accountabilities for this role include:
- Validating and providing viable solutions to address requests for workspace, negotiating and coordinating changes in space allocations between business units.
- Monitoring workspace requirements to identify space shortfall, oversupply, and vacancy rates, and engaging with business units on misalignments and un-forecasted changes.
- Building strong business relationships with divisional contacts to gain an understanding of medium to long-term workspace requirements, visibility of business strategies, and an in-depth understanding of teams affecting workspace requirements.
- Developing an understanding of site-specific facilities and incorporating them into office space calculations based on accommodation standards.
- Performing stack and move plan analysis.
- Conducting on-site inspections, validating fit-out layouts, and assessing external consultants' test fits.
- Providing analysis and reporting on space utilisation, allocations, occupancy, vacancy space requests, and chargeback costs.
- Maintaining space management systems to ensure reflection of allocations and occupancy, including the workplace and storage.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A background in space planning, design, change management, or relocations.
- Strong project management skills.
- Tertiary qualifications in design, change, or related fields and/or relevant experience.
- Exceptional stakeholder management skills with outstanding verbal and written communication.
- Experience in managing multiple projects concurrently.
- Advanced MS Excel and PowerPoint skills.
- The ability to balance working individually and collaboratively with a team.
- A learning mindset with a positive can-do attitude.
