We are seeking an experienced senior lawyer to join our team in a leadership position. The role involves working in a dynamic environment with interesting operational work, implementing new powers and supporting frontline operations to enhance community safety.
Key Responsibilities">- Provide legal advice to investigators, senior officers, and members of the Senior Executive on complex aspects of investigations, policy, and other operational law enforcement initiatives affecting the Queensland Police Service.
- Work collaboratively and supportively with a team, receiving mentoring and guidance, and leading a small number of legal officers.
- Support the manager and contribute to a positive and inclusive work environment, recognising excellent communication, analytical, and leadership skills drawn from various legal specialties and backgrounds.
- Admission or eligibility for immediate admission as a barrister or solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland and enrolment or eligibility for enrolment to practice in the Federal and High Courts of Australia.
- Possession of a degree in law from a recognised tertiary institution or equivalent qualifications.
- Able to obtain and maintain a security clearance to the minimal level of Negative Vetting Level 1.
