Legal Advisory Position

We are seeking a highly skilled Legal Officer to join our team and provide expert legal advice to investigators and senior officers.

This role will involve working collaboratively with other professionals to enhance community safety and develop high-quality confidential advice on sensitive operational legal matters.

  • Provide specialist legal guidance and support to investigators and officers of other disciplines.
  • Conduct research and analysis to inform legal advice and develop policies.
  • Draft warrants, settle complex affidavits, and appear in court as required.

Key Requirements:

  • Mandatory: Admission or eligibility for immediate admission as a barrister or solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland and enrolment or eligibility for enrolment in the Federal and High Courts of Australia.
  • Applicants must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance to the minimal level of Negative Vetting Level 1.

The successful candidate will undergo psychometric assessment prior to appointment. They will also be expected to perform duties in locations as directed by Legal Division. A driver's licence is desirable.

This position requires strong communication, analytical, and leadership skills drawn from experience in multiple legal specialties and backgrounds.
