Our Transmission Team is seeking a Primary Engineer to lead the design of front-end substation and transmission line projects up to 500kV.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering, with experience in utilities or high-voltage design. They will be responsible for delivering robust technical solutions, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and driving innovation across design methods and technical reviews.
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering technical solutions for substation and transmission line projects
- Ensuring compliance with AusNet's engineering standards and customer requirements
- Driving innovation and process improvement across design methods and technical reviews
- Collaborating with external partners to ensure engineering excellence
- Supporting project scoping, cost estimating, scheduling and stakeholder engagement
Requirements:
- Tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering
- 3+ years' experience in utilities or HV design (up to 500kV)
- Strong substation and primary electrical engineering skills
- Familiarity with Victoria's regulatory and energy market landscape
- Confident problem-solver with the ability to work cross-functionally
- Strong communicator and relationship-builder with internal and external stakeholders
