Job Title:

Effective Educator

The primary focus of this role is on further developing skills and competencies to become an effective classroom practitioner with structured support and guidance from teachers at higher levels.

This includes the planning, preparation and teaching of programs to achieve specific student outcomes, as well as contributing to the development and implementation of school policies and priorities.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement and evaluate curriculum programs to achieve specific student outcomes.
  • Engage in critical reflection and inquiry to improve knowledge and skills to effectively engage students and improve their learning.
  • Assist staff to use student data to inform teaching approaches that enable targets related to improving student learning outcomes to be achieved.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  1. Demonstrated knowledge of the relevant curriculum and ability to incorporate literacy and numeracy skills.
  2. Experience in planning for and implementing high impact teaching strategies guided by how students learn.
  3. Mastery of interpersonal and communication skills to establish collaborative relationships with students, parents, colleagues and the broader school community.
  4. Demonstrated behaviours and attitudes consistent with Department values and experience in reflecting upon practice and engaging in professional learning.
