Teaching Drama and Dance in a Secondary School

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced teacher to join our team as a specialist in teaching drama and dance to students in a secondary school setting.

The role is part-time, approximately 0.7 FTE, and covers parental leave for a maximum term of 12 months.

As a key member of our teaching team, you will play a significant role in planning, delivering, and reflecting on student learning experiences in your classroom.

You will also provide a safe, supportive, and respectful environment that promotes positive student wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, deliver, and assess learning experiences in drama and dance for students in a secondary school setting.
  • Provide a safe, supportive, and respectful environment that promotes positive student wellbeing.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement curriculum programs.
  • Participate in co-curricular activities and events.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor of Education or a degree qualification supported by a Masters in Education, or Post Graduate Diploma of Education.
  • Current Teacher Registration Board membership including a Working with Children card.

Essential Criteria

  • Ability to employ engaging delivery methods in drama and dance across the secondary school years.

  • Ability to integrate technology into curriculum delivery to provide opportunities for students to develop 21st-century skills.
  • An academic record that demonstrates an ability to foster personal best and achieve academic excellence.
