Senior Civil Design Engineer Job Description

As a Senior Civil Design Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the design and documentation of various civil engineering projects. You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering, with a minimum of 5 years' experience in a consultancy setting. They will possess excellent communication and report writing skills, as well as familiarity with industry-standard software packages such as DRAINS, MUSIC, Autocad, and Autotrack.

You will be responsible for producing designs that meet relevant standards and codes, delivering design calculations, reports, and drawings under limited supervision. Additionally, you will provide civil engineering design services to clients as necessary, working collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary environment.

The role also involves mentoring junior team members and preparing project briefs, scopes of work, and fees. If you are a self-motivated, technically competent individual who can work independently but also comfortably in a team environment, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering;
  • Minimum 5 years post-graduate engineering consultancy experience;
  • Excellent communication and report writing skills;
  • Familiarity with industry-standard software packages;
  • Road design experience in accordance with Austroads and best practice; Geometric design and pavement engineering;
