The Role
We seek experienced Registered Nurses with surgical nursing experience, excellent interpersonal skills, and a passion for delivering high-quality patient care to join our established nursing team on a full-time or part-time basis.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver safe, evidence-based standards of nursing care
• Provide education and support to individuals/patients for the management of their health recovery, rehabilitation, or end-of-life needs
• Lead successful quality improvement and safety management projects to deliver desired outcomes
• Collaborate with the wider healthcare team to support patient care needs
• Act as a role model for Safe Practice
The Department
Our Surgical A ward is a 36-bed unit specialising in general surgery, colorectal, plastic surgery, metabolic, and bariatric surgery. We have developed extensive expertise in stoma care and wound management.
The ward offers preceptorship and support for new employees, along with guidance from the Nurse Unit Manager, Clinical Nurse Educator, and Clinical Nurse Specialists. Our team welcomes passionate nurses who focus on patient-centred care in a supportive environment. Professional development opportunities are available.
Requirements:
• Current registration with AHPRA
• Minimum of 3 years of surgical experience
• Working with Children check
• Specialty nursing experience in general adult surgery, bariatrics, colorectal, plastics
• Commitment to Quality Patient Care
• Compliance with ACQSHC National standards
• Sound clinical decision-making and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work independently and within a team
