Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated individual to join our finance team as an Assistant Accountant in Sydney.

Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will provide timely and accurate financial information and analysis to aid management decisions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preparing monthly journals and assisting with month-end reporting.
  • Maintaining and updating the general ledger, ensuring accurate recording of financial transactions.
  • Supporting year-end statutory reporting and audits by providing documentation and explanations.
  • Assisting with budgeting and forecasting processes, including annual budgets and quarterly forecasts.
  • Conducting weekly and monthly bank reconciliations to ensure accurate cash reporting.
  • Collaborating with internal stakeholders to improve process efficiencies.
  • Performing ad hoc tasks as required.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • Started ICAANZ or CPA qualification.
  • Experience in professional services is desirable.
  • Understanding of financial accounting, especially general ledger maintenance.
  • Experience preparing financial statements, ensuring compliance with standards.
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and effective communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in Excel, including PivotTables, VLOOKUP, and SUMIFS.
  • Ability to communicate financial information effectively to non-finance stakeholders.
  • Client service focus, professional presentation, and proactive approach to task prioritization.
  • Desire to learn, grow, and mentor others.
