We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor for a Permanent Full-Time opportunity to join our friendly and dedicated team in a modern, spacious home located in the beautiful suburb of Chapel Hill. Our centre has links to major transport networks, local services, and is only 20 minutes away from the Brisbane CBD.

As a collaborative member of the staff team, you will be responsible for the overall maintenance of the internal and external environment of the sites. You will ensure safety and maintenance of equipment checks and assist with a variety of housekeeping and support service functions to ensure optimum standards in the physical environment of the site.

The role involves;

  • Leading and mentoring Maintenance Staff within the team and/or from employees within the Centre assisting maintenance functions.
  • Supervising the overall maintenance of internal and external environment of the facility by ensuring reactive and preventative maintenance activities are completed as scheduled and within the required time frames.
  • Ensuring all essential safety requirements including fire safety, electrical and other legislative tasks are carried out in accordance with standards, policies, and legislation within the facility.

About You

To be successful in the role, you will have;

  • Demonstrated experience in the management and planning of building and grounds maintenance, including proven strong safety knowledge and skills.
  • Demonstrated excellent organisational and time management skills, including the ability to manage complex workloads and prioritise work according to changing demands.
  • Demonstrated understanding and proven ability to select and use suitable tools and techniques, including a strong knowledge of electrical power tools and hand tools.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the aged care industry, including the application of the Aged Care Quality & Safety Standards, especially Standard 5.
  • High level verbal and written communication skills with patience and sensitivity appropriate for aged care resident liaison.

Requirements of the Role

  • Preferred trade background/previous experience in building maintenance.
  • Current Drivers Licence.
  • Full Covid Vaccination (including booster).
  • QLD NDIS screening check.
