Job Overview

Chubb is a world leader in insurance, operating in 54 countries and territories. We provide commercial and personal property and casualty insurance, personal accident and supplemental health insurance, reinsurance, and life insurance to a diverse group of clients.

We are seeking an Underwriter Operations Specialist to assist the Financial Lines team and deliver high-quality client service. This role will involve corresponding with brokers, coordinating placements, handling accounting or policies queries, and working with underwriters to prepare quotes on new business and renewal submissions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process Management and Customer Service:
    • To ensure all appropriate support and measures are taken for bookings to be registered within the required timeframes and to the required quality standard applying the right first-time principle.
    • Act as the first point of contact for processing complex business.
    • Review New Business submissions to determine opportunities for cross-selling and decision to quote based on Chubb's appetite and underwriting review.
  • Liaise with internal departments for credit control, claims, and risk information.
  • Chase brokers for outstanding binding instructions or subjectivities.
  • Assist in the coordination of placements, including submission review, determining local coverage requirements, and calculation of risk premiums and/or rates.
  • Quote and bind endorsements in line with underwriting guidelines and coordinate nil premium amendments to New and Renewal policies.
  • Reconcile aged finance items.
  • Ensure underwriting files are complete and fulfill audit requirements and manage transition of policies.
  • Ensure policy tracking/workflow tools are accurate and reflect the status of the policy at all times.
Requirements
  • 1+ years' working experience in the Insurance Industry.
  • Excellent computer literacy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in verbal and written forms.
  • Superior problem resolution and decision-making skills.
  • Proven experience of building and maintaining good working relationships.
  • Experience working to tight deadlines/SLAs is desirable.

Estimated Salary: $70,000 - $80,000 + superannuation.
