About the Role

Educating and influencing by example, this role will consist of implementing and maintaining training of the Emergency Response team and Safety management system, while providing Pre-Hospital Care to employees and minimising risk in the workplace by promoting health and safety protocols.

The successful candidate will have a Certificate III Mine Emergency Response (Underground) and a minimum of 3 years' experience in public safety and emergency response, preferably in a mining, construction or engineering environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Actively support the Emergency Response Team through the development and delivery of training packages to site personnel based on the training plan content
  • Maintain medical clinic and emergency equipment
  • Implement, train and support the ERT (Emergency Response Team)
  • Develop and maintain a specific skill set to facilitate the development of the ERT
  • Deliver site specific training as required
  • Support the Senior Advisor – Health, Safety and Emergency Response to deliver the required level of emergency response training to ERT personnel
  • Support the Site Access Control with Fit for Work testing
  • Provide leave coverage for the Site Access Control
  • Provide the first response capability for injury management on site
  • Contribute to the ongoing development, continual improvement and the communication of the site's Health and Safety Management System
  • Assist with ERT annual budgeting process and ensure costs are managed to meet budget expectations
  • Review, inspect and audit the sites Emergency response facilities, processes and documents to ensure compliance against site and legislative standards
  • Develop and implement ERT training schedule
  • Facilitate emergency response exercises
  • Maintain ERT equipment and facility
  • Work within and comply with the Evolution Mining and CGO site-specific safety and health management system.
  • Understand and comply with requirements of environmental approvals and relevant
  • environment, health and safety legislation.
  • Understand and support the CGO environment management system.

About You

  • Certificate III Mine Emergency Response (Underground)
  • Certificate IV Training and Assessment (Desirable)
  • Certificate IV in Pre-Hospital Emergency Medical Response and or Occupational First Aid
  • HLTPAT005 - Collect specimens for drugs of abuse testing
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in public safety and emergency response preferably in a mining, construction or engineering environment
  • Competent in the use of the Microsoft suite of software and general database use
  • Experience working as part of a multi-disciplined HSE function
  • Experience with open cut and underground Mines Rescue (Desirable)
  • Sound knowledge of (or the ability to rapidly acquire) NSW workers compensation, workplace rehabilitation and mining H&S legislation
  • Experience in the development of emergency response and treatment protocols in a heavy industry environment
  • Competent in writing and reviewing management plans, procedures, and other H&S related system documentation
  • Engaging delivery of both theoretical and hands on, competency-based training
  • Effective influencing and communication skills across a range of stakeholders
  • Experience in project management, and effective implementation of change
  • Commitment to maintaining health, safety and security standards and principles, both within own workplace and through the identification of potential risks throughout Evolution
