About the Role- Provide technical support in engineering and design processes for oil and gas pipelines, ensuring adherence to industry standards and regulations.
- Develop and support FEED and concept design studies, including detailed design calculations to optimise pipeline efficiency and safety.
- Assist in developing scoping documents such as routing studies, construction methodology, design criteria, and pipeline alignment sheets, utilising your analytical skills to identify potential risks and mitigation strategies.
- Participate in risk assessments and related workshops to ensure the successful delivery of projects.
- Prepare and support cost estimates, equipment summaries, and tender packages, providing valuable insights to stakeholders.
- Prepare piping and pressure vessel design documents, and analyse static equipment to guarantee seamless integration with existing infrastructure.
- Conduct mechanical engineering design and documentation from concept through to construction, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams.
- Write technical reports as needed to communicate complex ideas to various audiences.
- A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering field, with relevant experience in the oil and gas industry.
- 3-5 years' experience in mechanical engineering, especially pipeline design, piping, pressure vessels, and static equipment analysis.
- Proven experience in Australian oil and gas pipeline projects, including concept, FEED, and detailed design phases, with a strong understanding of local regulations and standards.
- Knowledge of AS2885 and other relevant Australian standards, acts, and regulations.
- Progress towards or achievement of Chartered Engineer status with Engineers Australia, demonstrating your commitment to ongoing professional development.
- The ability to manage multiple projects independently with conflicting deadlines, prioritising tasks effectively to meet project milestones.
- Experience in oil and gas facilities or similar heavy industries, with a solid understanding of safety protocols and best practices.
- Experience in developing and applying engineering standards, systems, and processes, driving continuous improvement initiatives.
- Excellent communication and report-writing skills, able to distill complex information into clear, concise language for various stakeholders.
