Job Opportunity: Trades Assistant
About the RoleAs a key member of our team, you will be responsible for assisting allocated tradespeople with general labouring tasks within a shipyard environment. You will work under the guidance of an immediate supervisor/coordinator to ensure the successful completion of projects.
Main Responsibilities- Participate in confined space entry, sentry, and fire sentry duties.
- Support tradespeople as required.
- Contribute to all aspects of the docking evolution.
- Adhere to and promote Austal's HSEQ policies and procedures.
- Hold self and colleagues accountable for HSEQ standards.
- Maintain quality standards and reduce waste in all forms.
- Able to work independently or as part of a team.
- Demonstrate ability to perform tasks safely and effectively.
- Capable of using standard hand tools.
- Effective time management skills and ability to meet set targets.
- EWP + 11m certification.
- Working at Heights & Confined Space certification.
- Ability to work in accordance with issued permits.
- Knowledge of First Attack Fire Fighting Equipment.
- At least 1 year experience in general labouring.
- 1 year experience in Confined Space Entry Sentry and Fire Sentry.
