Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Polywelder / Operator to join our team at UON Energy, a leading integrated energy company in Western Australia. As a Polywelder / Operator, you will be responsible for performing precision welding, operating machinery, and ensuring the safe and efficient construction of pipelines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Welding and Machining: Perform precision welding according to Australian Standards, using a range of pipe diameters from DN63 – DN900.
  • Machinery Operation: Operate specialized machinery for industrial Polywelding, including McElroy -T618, T500, T900, and Dixon welder.
  • Site Safety: Maintain a high level of safety practice at all times, adhering to site safety requirements and UON's values and behaviors.
  • Teamwork: Work collaboratively with the team to develop and utilize skills and knowledge required to deliver quality results.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Maintain and repair all machinery, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.
Requirements
  • Experience: A minimum of 2 years post-qualified experience as a Polywelder, with a minimum of 2 years of proven experience working as a Polywelder in all aspects of butt and electro fusion welding experience in operator roles in relevant mine/construction sites.
  • Certifications: A valid certificate in Polywelding (Butt Weld & Electrofusion or Extrusion welding) from an accredited institution within 2 years of conclusion date, and valid Operating Tickets – Excavator and Loader, Low Voltage Rescue (LVR) Training, Cardiopulmonary Perform Resuscitation (CPR) Training, Senior First Aid Training, Current High Risk Work Licence -Basic Rigging (RB), or Elevating Work Platforms (EWP), Chain of Responsibility – Drivers Training, and Current and valid Telehandler Tickets.
