Train Technician:
A challenging role awaits you at Sydney Trains.
Here's what you'll be doing:
Working with a dedicated team, you'll be responsible for inspecting, servicing and overhauling pneumatic and diesel systems on the iconic XPT regional train fleet.
From daily trip service inspections to heavy maintenance activities such as major overhauls and routine oil changes, your mechanical trade skills will be put to good use.
You'll also have the opportunity to work in varied environments - from the Sydenham maintenance centre to remote locations across NSW.
As a key member of our team, you'll contribute to keeping our passenger services safe and reliable by diagnosing and rectifying faults, carrying out functional tests and ensuring all mechanical and pneumatic systems are operating at peak performance.
But that's not all. You'll also be working as part of a 24/7 operation, which means you'll need to be flexible and able to work rotating shifts, including night shifts, weekends and overtime.
About you
To succeed in this role, you'll need to possess a Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade (Fitting/Machining) and have hands-on experience with pneumatic or diesel systems.
You should also have strong work ethic, mechanical aptitude and the ability to collaborate effectively across multiple trades.
So if you're looking for a challenge that will push you to grow and develop your skills, then this is the perfect opportunity for you.
