The Chief Controls Office (CCO) focuses on building upon our strong risk foundations, implementing proactive and strategic risk management, and control automation to achieve market-leading customer and business outcomes.

This role will support the CCO Controls Excellence Team in increasing the strength and efficiency of Business Banking's control environment through control automation and continuous monitoring.

The Control Assurance Manager will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and enhancing the automated control assurance framework for Business Banking Line 1 teams.

We require a seasoned professional with demonstrated experience in banking/financial services and a strong Operational Risk management background. You should possess influencing and consulting skills, with the ability to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels.

Key responsibilities include conducting and managing Control Assurance Program (CAP) testing, ensuring the effective design of automated controls, and supporting the business through implementation.

  1. Conducting and managing CAP testing, including test script development and assurance findings reporting.
  2. Designing and implementing automated controls for new and changing processes and operations.
  3. Supporting the business in designing and implementing automated controls enabling better risk and compliance outcomes.
  4. Maintaining data quality in various databases, including RiskInSite, and generating monthly management reports.

You will be well-suited for this role if you have:

  1. Demonstrated experience in banking/financial services and Operational Risk management.
  2. Influencing and consulting skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels.
  3. Able to analyze risks and opportunities, recommend actions, and think critically.
  4. Experience in testing or auditing IT General Controls and Application controls, with knowledge of software development, application controls, and identity access management.
  5. Able to use data-driven insights to solve problems and achieve risk and assurance outcomes.
  6. Leadership capability, with the ability to drive a positive team culture.
  7. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
