Environment Conservation Specialist

The Southern Gulf region in North West Queensland is home to a diverse range of natural environments that require effective management to ensure their long-term sustainability.
This role involves developing and implementing programs and projects that support environmental conservation outcomes, property management plans, land condition monitoring, education and awareness, adult learning, and on-ground works across the region.
A key aspect of this position is managing natural resource management projects, building partnerships with stakeholders, identifying funding opportunities, providing advice on emerging issues, and contributing to the success of the team.
To be successful in this role, you will need to have tertiary qualifications in Agricultural or Environmental Science, sound scientific knowledge of concepts relevant to natural resource management, experience in industry extension principles, high organisational skills, strong communication and initiative skills, and the ability to work autonomously and as an effective team member.
You will also need to possess a sound general knowledge of the principles of natural resource management, be willing to travel throughout the region, and have the ability to operate a four-wheel drive vehicle. The position is based in Mt Isa and may require relocation assistance and salary packaging benefits.
