Job Overview

The Construction Leading Hand role requires a skilled and experienced individual to oversee and motivate a team of carpenters and trade assistants. The successful candidate will possess strong leadership and coordination skills, as well as the ability to interpret drawings and meet deadlines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervision and Motivation: Ensure the team is working efficiently and effectively, allocating tasks and monitoring progress to achieve project goals.
  • Quality Control: Maintain high standards of quality, safety, and housekeeping, adhering to regulatory requirements and company policies.
  • Team Coordination: Collaborate with other trades to ensure seamless project execution and resolve any issues that may arise.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, candidates must have:

  • A Carpentry Trade Certificate III or equivalent qualification.
  • At least 3 years of experience in construction, with a minimum of 2 years in a leading hand or supervisory role.
  • Strong leadership and team coordination skills, with the ability to motivate and empower team members.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Relevant tickets, such as Forklift, EWP, Dogman, and Confined Space.
  • A current Driver Licence and personal hand tools.
