About the Opportunity

The Catholic Schools Parramatta Diocese is seeking a Specialist Teacher to work within the high support needs space and be accountable for supporting our Strategic Intent of improving learning outcomes for all students and promoting a professional and rewarding working life for teachers.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Creating Inclusive Practice: Develop and implement strategies to create an inclusive school culture that effectively implements personalised learning and adjustments for students with additional needs and disability.
  2. Personalised Planning: Understand and implement the Personalised Planning process to ensure students receive tailored support.
  3. Teaching Support Services: Provide specialised teaching support services to schools, building teacher capacity using a gradual release model.
  4. Expert Advice: Offer expert advice to leadership teams, teachers, and the wider system on matters related to specific disabilities and/or additional needs in accordance with CSPD guidelines.
  5. Inclusive Learning Environment: Work collaboratively to ensure inclusion, access, and participation, and to maximise learning outcomes for students with additional needs.
About You

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate alignment with the purpose and core values of CSPD, and possess:

  • Compliance with NSW Child Protection Legislation - Working with Children Check clearance.
  • Eligibility according to the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA).
  • Tertiary Qualification (minimum 4-year degree, or 75% complete).
  • Previous experience working with vulnerable students.
  • Demonstrated ability to build meaningful relationships with students and support an inclusive learning environment.
