We are seeking a driven and experienced academic to lead our department of economics at Macquarie University.
About the RoleThis full-time, continuing position offers an exciting opportunity for a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer or Associate Professor to take on a leadership role in our research-oriented department. As an expert in your field, you will be responsible for publishing research, teaching and advising students, and fostering a culture of excellence within the department.
Key Responsibilities- Publish high-quality research in leading international journals;
- Teach and advise undergraduate and graduate students in economics and econometrics;
- Contribute to the development and implementation of research initiatives and programs within the department;
- Mentor junior academics and staff to support their career development;
- Engage with industry and external stakeholders to promote the work of the department.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A strong track record of research publications in top-tier journals;
- Demonstrated expertise in teaching and mentoring students in economics and econometrics;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
- The ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and external partners;
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
