Job Summary

\

This role is focused on providing comprehensive support to children, young people and their families in the area of General Medicine. The position requires close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams as well as with other professionals within the Social Work Department.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide a thorough social work service to children, young people and their families referred from the relevant clinical area.\
  • Conduct psychosocial assessments, counselling and advocacy services.\
  • Develop and implement individual, family and group work programs to meet the needs of clients.\
\

Key Requirements

  • \
  • Eligibility for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).\
  • Post graduate experience in social work practice with families and children and/or in health contexts.\
  • Demonstrated skills in crisis intervention, assessment and counselling techniques.\
  • A commitment to evidence-based practice and ongoing professional development.\
