The Department of Adult Medicine encompasses various subspecialties, including Aged Care, Infectious Diseases, Gastroenterology, Nephrology, Oncology, General Medicine, Neurology, Respiratory, Haematology, Palliative Care, and Cardiology.
The primary role of the SRMO is to provide high-quality patient care in collaboration with specialists and medical officers for patients in Medicine, ensuring optimal health outcomes.
To excel in this position, you must possess:
- A medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) and current registration or eligibility for registration with the Medical Board of Australia
- At least two years' postgraduate clinical experience within the last three years
- Demonstrated clinical competence and ability to work independently in a complex clinical environment using excellent clinical skills, judgment, and expertise
- Commitment to quality improvement, patient safety, and risk management, as well as sound working knowledge of legal and ethical obligations governing medical practice
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, time management, and problem-solving skills within a multidisciplinary team
