As a pivotal community facilitator, you will drive Soldier On's mission forward by planning and delivering engaging activities that foster social connections for veterans and their families. These events are designed to strengthen relationships and promote a sense of belonging within the community.

About the Role:

This role involves building strong local partnerships and representing Soldier On professionally in the community and on Defence bases. You will work collaboratively with stakeholders to identify local needs and develop strategies to address them.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement proposals for local social connection and peer activities, ensuring accurate documentation and effective communication.
  • Coordinate bookings and manage participant data securely, maintaining confidentiality and integrity.
  • Deliver approved activities in-person and online, including webinars and virtual peer support, to ensure accessibility across Australia.
  • Prepare event summaries with attendance records, feedback, risks, and learnings, providing valuable insights for future improvements.
  • Establish and maintain productive relationships with Defence bases, JTAs, ESOs, councils, community providers, and venue partners.
  • Represent Soldier On at relevant events, such as Defence transition seminars, base family days, ESO forums, and community expos, promoting the organization's mission and values.
  • Identify local fundraising opportunities that align with the strategy, without impacting core delivery.
  • Support the local delivery of national campaigns and community or in-kind appeals.
