Highly skilled professionals are sought to fill a challenging role as an Intermediate Accountant. In this position, you will have the opportunity to work closely with clients to prepare and lodge financial reports. Key responsibilities include preparing income tax returns for individuals, trusts, and companies, as well as compiling business summaries and managing BAS, IAS, and GST reconciliations.The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and be able to analyze and prepare accounts for financial reporting. Additionally, they will be responsible for balancing subsidiary accounts and resolving discrepancies. A key aspect of this role is also the ability to communicate effectively with the ATO, including lodgment extensions, penalty remissions, and GIC.To be successful in this position, you will need to have a Bachelor of Commerce or Business degree with a major in Accounting or Finance. Experience in public practice is also highly desirable, as is current pursuit or willingness to undertake the CAANZ Chartered Accountant Program. Technical skills such as proficiency in accounting software like MYOB, Xero, and QuickBooks are essential, while intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite is also necessary.In addition to these technical requirements, the ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker who can identify opportunities and challenges. Strong written and verbal communication skills are also crucial, as is the ability to collaborate and share knowledge within a team environment.
