Cloud Engineering Leadership

Job Title: Cloud Data Engineer Leader

We are seeking an experienced cloud data engineer to lead our team in Australia. As a key member, you will be responsible for designing and implementing cutting-edge data solutions, advising senior stakeholders on data strategy, and guiding the development of robust data platforms.

The ideal candidate will possess hands-on expertise with the Azure data platform, demonstrated client-facing experience, and strong skills in solutioning and project estimation.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Design and implement end-to-end data solutions in the cloud, balancing scalability, security, and business agility.
  2. Lead data maturity assessments, identify capability gaps, and create actionable roadmaps.
  3. Champion data governance, AI adoption, and self-service analytics across client organizations.
  4. Drive business development and pre-sales activity, supporting proposals, SoWs, and commercial modeling to articulate client value.
  5. Leverage the full Azure data stack to build scalable, integrated data platforms, and optimize data models for performance and maintainability.
  6. Collaborate with stakeholders to align solutions with architectural standards and ensure compliance with security and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • A seasoned professional with 5+ years of experience in data engineering and solution architecture within enterprise-scale environments.
  • Specializing in Azure technologies, with hands-on expertise in the Azure data platform.
  • Demonstrated client-facing experience and strong skills in solutioning and project estimation.
  • A solid understanding of data modeling principles, including star and snowflake schemas, dimensional modeling, and Slowly Changing Dimensions.
  • Experience with SQL, Python, R, Scala, or Java, along with knowledge of cloud security best practices.
