We are seeking an experienced and skilled nurse leader to join our Surgical Program team. This is a permanent full-time role that offers a challenging and rewarding opportunity.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will provide expert clinical leadership and consultation in the assessment, management, and education of patients with ostomies, continence issues, and trial of void strategies.
- Lead the operational and nursing management of Stomal therapy and Continence referrals.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
- Educate and train healthcare professionals and patients on best practices in ostomy care, continence management, and skin integrity.
- Employ high-level clinical knowledge and judgement to ensure superior delivery of holistic care to inpatients.
- Manage the nurse-led Stomal Therapy Outpatient Clinic and Trial of Void Clinic.
- Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement, and research projects related to Trial of Void protocols and continence and ostomy care.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with the relevant health authority.
- At least 5 years' full-time equivalent post-registration experience and approved post-registration nursing qualifications relevant to Stomal Therapy/Continence Nursing or such other qualifications deemed appropriate.
- Demonstrated leadership ability working in a multidisciplinary healthcare team with a comprehensive understanding of clinical governance and current nursing issues.
- Demonstrated evidence of integration of theoretical knowledge and clinical skills, critical thinking, and analysis in daily practice.
- Demonstrated effective time management skills and ability to prioritise competing workloads within a complex environment.
