Role Summary

The Financial Reporting Consultant will play a critical role in supporting the Australian Financial Reporting team. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing exceptional client service and being the primary point of contact for accounting and tax queries
  • Reviewing financial statements and templates to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Identifying opportunities for process improvement and implementing changes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
  • Delivering training and coaching to junior team members to ensure knowledge sharing and skill development
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve client reporting objectives
  • Working closely with the Financial Reporting and Tax manager to develop new products and processes
  • Managing the new client onboarding process for financial reporting and tax
  • Providing oversight of offshore teams' output and performance
  • Ensuring adequate risk management controls are in place and adhering to Northern Trust compliance standards
About You

We are seeking an experienced professional with a strong background in accounting and tax, particularly in the context of Managed Investment Schemes (MIS) and Superannuation funds. Key qualifications and skills include:

  • Technical knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards and Tax rules
  • Experience working in a custodian, superannuation fund, or investment manager accounting/tax team
  • Strong Excel skills and proficiency in utilizing financial statements and tax reporting system tools
  • Accounting/Commerce/Finance degree qualification, ideally with a CA or CPA
  • Demonstrated relevant experience in a similar role
  • Excellent client service and relationship management skills
