A Mental Health Practitioner

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate mental health practitioner to join our multidisciplinary team. This role will involve providing high-quality care and support to individuals with acute mental health needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Triage and Assessment: Deliver comprehensive assessments, triage services, and assertive outreach to individuals and their families.
  • Intervention and Support: Provide acute care interventions, support clients recently discharged from inpatient services, and respond to urgent care needs.
  • Treatment Planning: Work closely with clients, their families, and carers to develop collaborative treatment plans that reflect best practice and evidence-based care.

Requirements:
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications as a Registered Nurse (including completion of a new graduate RN program or equivalent 12 months experience working as a registered nurse) and current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Demonstrated experience in assessing and managing people with acute mental health disorders.
  • Excellent negotiation skills and verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the NSW Mental Health Act and related legislation.
  • Understanding of recovery-oriented care with the ability to collaborate meaningfully with consumers and their family and carers regarding mental health service provision.
