
Senior Release Manager Position

This job posting is for a Release Manager position.
Job Responsibilities:
- Manage business and project risks through a highly planned and integrated approach to the implementation of all system and technology changes requiring release management, based on industry best practices, e.g. IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL).
- Communicate and liaise with the Change Manager to ensure ITIL best practices are adhered to.
- Endorse OneSchool release requests, according to advice provided by relevant vendors, technical staff and Change Advisory Boards (CABs), ensuring that proposed solutions are properly understood and appropriately exploited.
- Oversee the coordination, planning and organisation of all affected resources ensuring appropriate communications and sign off.
- Review all implemented releases to ensure that they have met their objectives, and conduct/complete post incident reviews as required.
- Provide monthly reports to relevant stakeholders with regard to release schedules and progress.
- Maintain all required documentation associated with releases, and periodically analyse records to determine any trends or apparent problems that occur, and proactively identify opportunities for improvement.
- Foster relationships with various stakeholders to establish and maintain effective change networks, reference groups and other communication channels within the Department and across government.
- Other responsibilities include:
- Other suitable duties, consistent with the duties and responsibilities of the position as directed by the supervisor or nominated delegate.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience in managing business and project risks using industry best practices like ITIL.
- Excellent communication and liaison skills to work effectively with Change Managers and other stakeholders.
- Ability to provide expert advice on release management and endorse OneSchool release requests.
- Strong organisational and time management skills to oversee the coordination, planning and organisation of all affected resources.
- Analytical skills to review implemented releases and complete post incident reviews as required.
- Proven ability to provide regular reports to stakeholders and maintain documentation related to releases.
- Effective stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills to foster strong change networks and communication channels.
