Information Manager Job Description

The Australian Steel Institute is seeking a talented Information Manager to join their team. This role focuses on delivering professional library and information services to the organization's staff and members.

Job Responsibilities
  • Provide subject searches, loans, and initial technical enquiry handling for the library.
  • Respond to eLibrary requests in a timely manner.
  • Maintain the library database and resources, as well as acquire new materials to support the organization's needs.
  • Administer the content management system (CMS), including website and back-end systems maintenance.
  • Supervise the organization's bookshop operations, including stock management, eBooks, and subscriptions.
  • Support the publication of new or revised books by editing, formatting, and proofreading content.
  • Assist technical management with the publication of industry journals.
Required Qualifications and Experience
  • A recognized library qualification or relevant equivalent experience.
  • Experience in a similar role, ideally with an emphasis on technical or engineering subject matter.
  • High level English language capability, including grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
  • Strong editorial skills, including the ability to review, mark up, and proof check publications.
  • Demonstrated experience using Content Management Systems, preferably with Kentico expertise.
  • Strong Microsoft 365, website, and database management skills.
  • Excellent administrative, planning, and communication skills.
  • A highly professional approach and attention to detail.
  • Excellent people and customer service skills when working with team members, external parties, and members.
Employment Details
  • Part-time position, 4 days per week, with flexibility to include work from home days.
  • Located in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia.
