About the Role

Job Type: Permanent | Full Time | Flexible First options available

Salary: £40,600 - £61,000 + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting compliance audits to assess the activities of SSE's business units and corporate support functions against regulatory and legal obligations, and internal procedural/policy requirements.
  • Communicating review findings to key stakeholders in a concise, logical, and professional manner.
  • Collaborating with senior managers to agree work scope and action plans to mitigate findings.
  • Developing an in-depth understanding of relevant regulation and legislation for assigned business units and assisting those business units to identify key compliance risks.
  • Contributing to the development of Group Compliance Operations processes.

Requirements:

  • Current Audit Professional qualification, e.g., Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or International Compliance Association (ICA) Diploma in Governance, Risk & Compliance (or equivalent), and relevant professional experience.
  • Sound knowledge and experience of the regulatory rules governing energy and/or financial markets.
  • Excellent report writing skills, good attention to detail, ability to manage your time and workload efficiently, have first-class negotiation/influencing skills and be structured in approach and resilient in character.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability and confidence to build effective working relationships with a variety of internal stakeholders.
