Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Culinary Specialist to join our catering team at our Waverley home. As a key member of our kitchen team, you will be responsible for preparing and delivering high-quality meals that cater to the diverse needs and preferences of our residents.

Key Responsibilities

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • Food preparation, service, delivery, and collection in accordance with food safety guidelines
  • Maintaining accurate records and adhering to our Food Safety Program
  • Ensuring compliance with Speech Pathology recommendations and storage & inventory management best practices
  • Maintenance and cleanliness of the kitchen and service area
  • Organizing kitchen equipment maintenance and ensuring effective communication with stakeholders
  • Providing excellent customer service and managing feedback in line with our feedback system
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A current Criminal Record Check
  • A Certificate III or IV in Hospitality/Commercial Cookery or equivalent qualification
  • A minimum of two years' experience in a Cook role within an aged care or commercial kitchen environment
  • The ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively as part of a team
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of current HACCP guidelines
  • Experience in cooking for a large group and preparing a wide range of meals and snacks
  • The ability to supervise and coordinate catering staff
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and without supervision when required
