Key Responsibilities
  • Provide person-centered support to clients based on their individual needs and preferences.
  • Assist clients with daily living activities such as eating, dressing, bathing, and grooming.
  • Offer transportation assistance to clients, ensuring they have access to essential services and appointments.
  • Provide respite care to clients and their families, giving them much-needed breaks and time to recharge.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of client care plans and progress.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, their families, and other members of the care team, fostering strong relationships built on trust and respect.
  • Comply with health and safety regulations to ensure the well-being and safety of clients.
Requirements
  • A minimum of high school education or equivalent.
  • At least one year of experience working with people with disabilities, with a focus on understanding their unique needs and perspectives.
  • Experience with dementia care is highly regarded.
  • A solid understanding of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and its guidelines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and colleagues alike.
  • Effective problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the capacity to adapt to changing circumstances.
