Job Description

We are seeking an experienced insurance lawyer to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in insurance law and the ability to provide expert advice on complex insurance products and distribution models.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Expert Advice: Provide high-quality legal advice on complex insurance products and distribution models, including policy wordings, PDSs, and statutory notices.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Advise on regulatory compliance with ASIC, APRA, privacy legislation, and financial services law.
  • Contract Drafting: Draft and review key contractual documents.
  • Team Collaboration: Contribute to a high-performing, engaged legal team.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Partner with stakeholders to deliver business-ready legal solutions that simplify complexity.
Requirements
  • Qualifications: Admission as a Solicitor or Barrister in any Australian Court and a current Practising Certificate.
  • Experience: 5+ years post-admission experience in financial services law, including the Insurance Contracts Act and Corporations Act.
  • Background: Experience in a top-tier law firm or large general insurer is highly desirable.
  • Skills: Strong stakeholder engagement and ability to translate legal complexity into actionable advice, high ethical standards, agility under pressure, and a collaborative mindset.
  • Communication: Skilled communicator with a focus on customer service and relationship management.
