Strategic Procurement Specialist Role Overview

The Social Procurement Manager will play a pivotal role in maximising the T2D social procurement strategy by supporting Aboriginal businesses, Social Enterprises, Australian Disability Enterprises, and local businesses.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the procurement team to drive tenders and onboarding processes that align with social inclusion and procurement KPIs and TIPP requirements.
  • Provide expertise on the South Australian Industry Participation Policy and Social Procurement Strategy to ensure seamless execution.
  • Nurture beneficial relationships with external industry stakeholders, including Social Enterprises, Aboriginal Business, and subcontractors, to drive strategic partnerships.
  • Foster regular communication with internal stakeholders – Commercial, Construction, and People – to guarantee all targets are met and opportunities are adequately leveraged.
  • Analyse project needs regarding diversity and social inclusion, identifying effective solutions to address these requirements.
  • Offer advice and guidance on commercial risks arising from procurement processes, recommending practical and sound solutions for implementation.

About You:

  • Proven experience in a similar role, specifically within Industry Capability Development, Social Engagement, Workforce Development, or Procurement.
  • Tertiary qualifications in supply chain, business, engineering, or a related field (desired).
  • Excellent communication skills to influence key stakeholders effectively.
  • Leadership and change management expertise to drive organisational change and strategic initiatives for social procurement.
  • Experience in business development and contract management.
