Conservation Support Role

We are seeking a highly practical and multi-skilled individual to join our team as a Conservation Support Officer. The primary purpose of this role is to provide general support across Adelaide Zoo and the Bolivar Bamboo Plantation, assisting with horticulture tasks and other duties.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience working in a similar role, be highly organized, and possess excellent communication skills. A license to operate forklifts, sweepers, tractors, vehicles, and trucks would be highly desirable.

  • Horticulture Tasks: Assist with landscaping, maintenance, and general care of exhibits and grounds.
  • Logistics: Collect, transport, and deliver items to and from the zoo, including rubbish and waste materials.
  • Equipment Operation: Operate forklifts, sweepers, tractors, vehicles, and trucks where licensed and required.

To be successful in this role, you must have a strong work ethic, be able to work independently, and demonstrate a commitment to animal welfare and conservation.

A Working at Heights ticket and experience working in confined spaces would be highly desired.
