The primary responsibility of a Service Technician is to assemble products according to specifications, undertake maintenance and repair tasks, testing and servicing of manual wheelchairs, and maintain accurate assembly and service records.

This role requires coordinating scheduled and unscheduled operations and service maintenance visits, ensuring all customer products returned for repair or service are handled promptly and efficiently. Furthermore, the successful candidate will provide high-level on-site troubleshooting and technical service, support and repairs to customers as outlined in service sheets and customer orders.

Key responsibilities include:

Assembly and Maintenance:

  • Assemble products according to specifications
  • Undertake maintenance and repair tasks of manual wheelchairs
  • Test and service manual wheelchairs

Record Keeping and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate assembly and service records
  • Supply reports to customers of works conducted

Service Coordination:

  • Coordinate and plan scheduled and unscheduled operations
  • Ensure timely return of repaired or serviced products to customers

Troubleshooting and Repair:

  • Provide on-site troubleshooting and technical service
  • Support and repair manual wheelchairs

Productivity and Safety:

  • Maintain high levels of productivity to meet or exceed service targets
  • Maintain cleanliness and order of designated workshop

Required Skills and Qualifications:

- 2-3 years' mechanical assembly experience within a manufacturing environment (desirable)

- Strong commitment to quality and safety

- Ability to learn and develop technical knowledge

- Demonstrated safe use of electrical assembly tools

- Excellent customer service skills

- Basic computer and information technology skills

Desirable Qualifications:

- Certificate II, III or IV in Engineering - Mechanical trade

Tickets and Licenses:

- Driver's License

- National Police Clearance
