Job Title

As a producer with SBS Radio, you will play a key role in helping people from diverse cultures feel at home in Australia.

  • You will inform, educate and entertain Australians through our in-language radio programs and digital content.
The Role Overview

This position offers the opportunity to work on a rostered or as needed basis. The role can be based out of Sydney (Artarmon) or Melbourne (Federation Square).

Key responsibilities include:

  • Planning, preparing, assessing, researching, writing, producing, sub-editing, translating and scripting multiplatform content for presentation.
  • Generating and developing content ideas for the relevant platform and language audience.
  • Establishing, developing and maintaining contact with correspondents (stringers and contributors) and other stakeholders.
  • Contributing to divisional objectives through participation in cross-language content and initiatives.
  • Presenting audio content on-air (radio) including conducting live interviews, talk-backs, coverage and outside broadcasts.
  • Ensuring all relevant content scheduled is broadcast and uploaded as required.
About You

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • A strong ability to research, write, produce, translate and present audio content on air and/or online platforms.
  • Confidence in crafting engaging abstracts for online and social media, with an understanding of SEO advantageous.
  • Proficiency in translating from English to Korean and vice versa, with the ability to undertake a language assessment task.
  • Availability for shift work to meet operational and audience needs.
