Key Responsibilities

The Tribunal is responsible for independently setting and advising on remuneration for Members of Parliament, local councillors and executives in the public sector.

It consists of up to three part-time Members led by a Chairperson with no direction from government.

  • Developing recommendations for parliamentary salaries and allowances;
  • Providing expert advice on executive remuneration practices.
