Senior Cost Manager

About the Role
Currie & Brown is seeking a Senior Cost Manager to lead projects and deliver high-quality service to clients. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the procurement process, preparing cost plans, and ensuring accurate financial reporting.
Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing feasibility studies and writing procurement reports.
- Lead preparation of cost plans, including measurement and pricing.
- Manage the procurement process, ensuring effective stages from pre-qualification to contract preparation.
- Ensure accurate cost plans, reports, and valuations.
- Produce monthly post-contract cost reports and present them to clients.
- Estimate and agree post-contract variations and monthly valuations.
- Undertake value engineering.
- Negotiate and conclude final accounts.
- Interface with clients and other consultants at all project stages.
- Supervise and mentor junior team members.
Qualifications
- BSc in quantity surveying or equivalent.
- Membership of RICS, API, Property Council, UDIA, or similar institutions.
- Pre- and post-contract experience on Healthcare projects is ideal.
- CostX experience is essential.
- Experience in private and public works is preferred.
- Experience with JCT forms of contract.
- Good technical writing, client-facing, and communication skills.
- Well-organised, diligent, proactive, assertive, well-disciplined, and commercially astute.
- A team player with a 'can-do' attitude, outgoing, polite, patient, diplomatic, personable, respectful, and flexible.
