The Role:

Job Title: Risk and Permit Control Coordinator

We are seeking a highly skilled Risk and Permit Control Coordinator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for administering and managing our digital permitting system, Rapid Global.

This role involves coordinating permit-to-work systems for all staff at Fiona Stanley Hospital, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and procedures.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Reviewing and evaluating Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS)
  • Auditing works undertaken by personnel and subcontractors holding a permit to work
  • Signing and issuing Permits to Work for high-risk tasks
  • Reviewing completed permits and identifying non-compliances with the permit-to-work procedure

To Be Successful In This Role You Will Need:

  • Experience & Qualifications
    • Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety or other relevant safety qualifications
    • Sound understanding of IT systems
    • Ability to interpret and explain relevant legislation, regulations, policies, and procedures to others
    • Mechanical or Electrical trade qualification highly desirable
    • Relevant industry experience in delivering work scopes in line with permit-to-work systems
  • Skills & Attributes
    • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
    • High attention to detail with competency in reviewing documents and drawings
    • Well-developed organisational and time management skills with the ability to show initiative and work effectively under pressure
    • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain concerns and issues in a clear and easily understood manner
    • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel Word SharePoint and Teams
    • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as collaboratively in a team environment
