Cloud Container Engineer

Are you passionate about building high-quality, fast, and scalable container workloads?

The Azure team is seeking cloud engineers who can design and implement end-to-end systems for container management. The Azure Container Registry (ACR) is responsible for storing, securing, scanning, replicating, and managing container images and artifacts.

We are looking for a software engineer to join our team in designing, building, and validating various components needed to maintain, scale, and make Azure Container Registry the best choice for storing images for container workloads.

As a cloud engineer on our team, you will have the opportunity to work with various Azure technologies to build and maintain this massively scalable cloud service. You will help develop automated tests for production code, contribute to service quality by authorizing service health metrics and monitors, and act as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) working on-call to monitor the service for degradation, downtime, or interruptions.

Responsibilities:

  • Determines user requirements for features with stakeholders.
  • Identifies dependencies and develops design documents for product features with little oversight.
  • Creates and implements code for products, services, or features reusing code as applicable.
  • Creates automated tests for production code and contributes to service quality by authorizing service health metrics and monitors.
  • Contributes to efforts to break down larger work items into smaller work items and provides estimation.
  • Acts as a DRI working on-call to monitor the service for degradation, downtime, or interruptions and recommends actions to restore system/product/service by following the playbook.
