Colorectal Surgeon Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Colorectal Surgeon to join our dynamic team at Flinders Medical Centre. As a key member of our unit, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to patients with complex colorectal conditions.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a range of surgical cases, including elective and emergency procedures. You will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless patient care, from diagnosis to treatment and recovery.

About the Role:

  • Perform complex colorectal surgeries, including colonoscopies and rectal resections;
  • Work collaboratively with registrars, residents, and interns to ensure effective patient care;
  • Participate in ward rounds, ensuring that all staff members are aware of their tasks and responsibilities;
  • Contribute to the development of surgical protocols and guidelines.

About You:

  • You hold a Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent, and are registered with the Medical Board of Australia;
  • You have successfully completed FRACS or equivalent, and possess RACS Fellowship with colorectal interest;
  • You are GESA accredited for colonoscopies or equivalent (preferred);
  • You have excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to supervise more junior medical staff.
