Job Title: Medical Care Specialist

Overview:

We are seeking a Medical Care Specialist to provide high-quality medical care to children, youth, adults, and seniors in their homes and other settings.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Diabetes management for patients with diabetes-related conditions
  • Dialysis treatment for patients with kidney disease
  • Medication management for patients with chronic illnesses
  • Palliative care for patients with life-limiting illnesses
  • Phlebotomy services for laboratory testing
  • Wound care, including negative pressure wound therapy and complex wounds
Requirements:
  • Must be licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the province of practice
  • Experience in community health is an asset
  • A valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle are required
  • A current and original copy of a satisfactory Criminal Records Check is required; a Vulnerable Sector Search and/or a Child Abuse Registry Check may also be required
  • Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

This role requires attention to detail in a dynamic environment, with physical activity including lifting, carrying using proper techniques, bending, reaching, kneeling, and other movements that emphasize good body mechanics. The individual will need to walk, sit, stand, and climb stairs throughout the day, with some tasks requiring fine hand movements.
