Randstad Education Australia is currently recruiting for a Debt Recovery Specialist to work with the Queensland State Government in Ipswich. This role involves negotiating actions to recover outstanding debts and finalising accounts.

The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to deliver exceptional customer service in fast-paced environments and possess strong communication and negotiation skills.

This is a standard full-time working week on a rotating roster between 8am - 6pm, paying $49.40 per hour plus super. The successful candidate will be required to work collaboratively within a team and build relationships with diverse customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality customer service, approaching situations with empathy and resilience.
  • Proactively support clients to recover debts.
  • Apply legislative knowledge to make informed decisions.
  • Educate customers on policies and repayment procedures.
  • Handle questions and complaints, escalating when needed, and keep accurate records.

Skills/Experience Required:

  • Prior experience in sales, banking, debt recovery, or dispute resolution is highly regarded.
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with experience managing complex or sensitive situations.
  • Proficiency in computer systems is a must.
  • Strong interpersonal abilities, with a background in working collaboratively within a team.
  • Experience in interpreting and applying relevant legislation and procedures to ensure compliance.
  • Ability to build relationships and effectively engage with a diverse range of customers.
  • A highly motivated individual, focused on achieving personal goals and actively supporting team success.
  • Able to work on rotating shifts Monday-Friday 8am-6pm.
  • Must be able to pass a criminal history check to be successful for the role.
