**About the role

The Registrar/ Principal House Officer (PHO) provides medical services under the supervision of Consultant Psychiatrist that are evidence-based, efficient, effective and equitable to consumers within a public health setting. Registrar/ PHOs are expected to acquire necessary skills and knowledge to satisfy the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP) Australian Medical Board requirements in order to practice as a specialist. This program has strong links with the University of Queensland, Ipswich Clinical School.

About you

Knowledge, expertise and skill in the assessment and clinical management of people with mental illness.
Effective interpersonal, communication, negotiation and organisational skills including the ability to work effectively and efficiently within a multidisciplinary team.
Demonstrated commitment to continuing professional education including development and maintenance of personal knowledge and skills.
Understanding of and commitment to mental health recovery model of care, evidence-based practice and continuous quality improvement to enhance service delivery outcomes.
Knowledge (or the ability to rapidly acquire knowledge) of National and State Mental Health directions and legislation relevant to the provision of specialist mental health services.

Mandatory Requirements:
Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16
