Patient Transport Officer Role

This position offers a unique opportunity to make a positive impact on the health and well-being of the community.

About the Job:

As a Patient Transport Officer, you will be responsible for providing safe and efficient transportation to patients and clients throughout the Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Transport patients and clients to outpatient health appointments in a timely manner.
  • Deliver high-quality customer service to a diverse range of clientele including patients, clients, and staff members.
  • Maintain a clean and safe vehicle, adhering to all relevant regulations and guidelines.
Requirements:
  • Holding a current unencumbered Class C drivers licence.
  • Able to drive a variety of manual and automatic transmission vehicles.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of manual handling techniques combined with proven ability to perform work of a physical nature.
  • Effective interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team with minimal supervision.
  • Able to prioritize and time manage a busy work schedule.
  • Ability to work a 5-day week roster incorporating various shifts and a willingness to operate from any site within ISLHD.
  • Knowledge of and ability to undertake minor motor vehicle maintenance.
Selection Criteria:

  • Knowledge of and ability to undertake minor motor vehicle maintenance including maintaining log sheets, checking oil, water, brake fluids, tyre pressure and wear, cleaning/washing.
